There are some moments in time that seem to stand still, so much experience packed into one memory that it takes maybe even a lifetime to understand the depth of it all. That was October 27^th, 2023 for me….. It was my first time at Fuji Speedway, which by itself is an experience, but also the Supra Owners Meet, AND an HKS Premium Track Day, where they were testing the HKS Circuit Built Toyota 86 Racecar. Many well-known names teamed up that day and you know we stocked up on memorabilia, but the real souvenir came in the form of this breathtaking scene that I will never forget. As the Sun set on the blacktop of one of the world’s most legendary tracks, the Japanese horizon ironically shined behind this iconic racecar, time seemed to stand still while I was free to capture it all.

These are the moments that make great photographers (or journalists) remember why they do this, though money is cool, we all started with a drive to capture reality through our eyes, because maybe writing, or capturing history makes us the victors.

While the HKS 86 has now raced in many circuits and made quite a name for itself, and HKS often features its battles and victories, it will forever remain as this unforgettable moment in my memory. Enjoy.
