Dupont Registry accommodated the Gold Rush Rally 4 in this special addition of their monthly Cars & Coffee. Beginning on the other side of the country in Los Angeles, Participants in this years Goldrush had the experience of cruising the entire country with automotive entertainment at every stop. Locations for these festive breaks were Phoenix, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Panama City, Orlando, before the special stop in St Pete. Brandon Connelly was fortunate enough to join the GoldRush Experience before they headed off to Miami for the conclusion of the trip.
What was your favorite car and why?
The Platinum Motorsports and Luxury4Play Matte White Bugatti Veyron.
Simply because It’s not often that many of the general public get to see a Veyron, especially here in the US. But at the same time, a car like that painted so clean in matte white. It really doesn’t get much better. Keep in mind that there were 3 Veyrons on the east coast leg (Silver Grand Sport, matte black Veyron, and matte white one)
What was the best part of your day?
The best part of the day for me was probably the arrival at Dupont Registry for their Cars & Coffee. The road to enter the parking lot complex was lined on both sides with people. It was the most amazing crowd I’d ever seen in my years of covering automotive events. Truly a fantastic experience and glad everyone gave the Goldrush Rally such a warm Florida welcome to St. Pete.
That and also just being on the road with some of the most beautiful cars in the country which were being truly driven the way they should! You have to respect someone who doesn’t keep a car like that as a “show piece.” I think almost half of the cars drove the full rally (about 5800 miles total in 9 days) including two of the Veyrons.
Were there any other major points you would like to point out from your experience?
The main part about the whole GoldRush rally that makes it such an amazing experience is that it is a great bond of people…nothing tops that when it comes to an event of this kind.
